OUTLOOK™ India is aimed at businesses looking to learn more about market growth and trends, technology, product development, innovation and sustainability in this region.
A tabletop exhibition is also organised allowing professionals to grow their network and offering participants the opportunity to learn about the newest products and services.
The OUTLOOK™ India Innovation Award competition is organised within the framework of OUTLOOK™ India conference. A reward which honors innovative products and services made in or for the Indian market. It is part of our broader effort to support and celebrate innovation within the nonwoven and related industry.
Companies can nominate either a nonwoven or nonwoven-based product, raw material, component or service for the personal care and hygiene sectors, which has been developed, designed, manufactured and/or is on sale in the India.
During the conference, shortlisted companies will be given time to present their innovation to delegates. The winning company will be selected by the audience.
The 2019 OUTLOOK™ India Innovation Award was attributed by delegates’ votes to Saral Design Solutions for SWACHH, their fully automatic machine technology SWACHH that produces affordable, ultrathin sanitary napkins at a decentralised set up.

Rahul Bansal joined Birla Cellulose in May 2010 as the Assistant Vice-President and is responsible for the global business development and key account management of Birla Cellulose’s nonwovens group. Prior to joining Birla Cellulose, Rahul served as the General Manger at Ginni Nonwovens from 2007 – 2010.
Rahul is a “textile technocrat” with over 24-years of experience ranging from fiber and synthetic yarns to spunlace nonwovens and wet wipes.
Kanav Gupta is currently working as the Associate Director at BCH which is a consulting services company, dedicated to the Nonwovens and Technical Textiles Industry of India. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Narsee Monjee institute, Mumbai and has completed his Executive MBA from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He started off his career with KPMG, working in their Forensic Due diligence team. He then worked for 4 years with Ernst and Young in their Risk Advisory and Business Advisory services wing in sectors like Telecom and Outsourcing, and Robotics . With a keen interest to work in the fast growing Nonwovens and Technical textiles Industry of India he joined BCH in 2016 and Since the last 3 years he has been working in areas of Research, Business Development and New Project setup in the Hygiene, Nonwovens and Technical textiles industry. He has a global experience by working with companies from Asia, Europe and the Americas. He has an avid interest in travelling, and seeks to learn from different cultures and countries to implement and grow the Industry back in his own country, however with the strong belief of – Thinking Globally but acting locally.
Mr. Vaibhav Modak heads Nordson Corporation’s Adhesive Dispensing Systems business in South Asia. As General Manager, he oversees non-woven business lines, along with a portfolio of other businesses.
With over 30 years of work experience, he was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Institute of Packaging Machinery Manufacturers of India (IPMMI), and elected President of The Adhesive & Sealant Association (TASA) to share his expertise.
Having spent over 20 years of his career working with technology intensive, high value capital equipment, at this event he will present how high technology products can help reduce cost per product with improved quality of Adhesive Hygiene Products.
Education: Master’s in Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology from Bombay Veterinary College, Mumbai.
Certification: EU Certified Safety Assessor for EU cosmetic products
Work experience: currently working as senior manager in Toxicology department of Johnson & Johnson Private Ltd. Previously, I worked with couple of Indian preclinical CRO’s and drug discovery research-based organizations supporting various type of preclinical safety and pharmacology studies in different capacities.
Overall, 20 years of experience in Toxicology and risk assessment of consumer products including Skin Health, Oral Health, Wound Care and Women’s Absorbent Hygiene Products (AHPs).

Rajasekaran graduated from the Madras Institute of Technology in 2001 with a degree in Rubber Technology, before obtaining a Master of Technology in Polymer science and Technology from IIT Delhi.
Having gained more than 15 years’ experience in the field of hot melt adhesive technology, he has developed a rich expertise in both product development and delivering technical support to the customer. Having excelled in the fields of R&D, Production, Quality systems and technical service, Raj is now Technology Manager providing solutions and bringing additional value to Bostik’s customers in India. In recent years, Rajasekaran has delivered several speeches at industry conferences.
As a co-founder and CEO of Sparkle, Chirag guides the company in the areas of R&D, product design, manufacturing and business development. Chirag has completed his mechanical engineering from McMaster University in Canada, Master in Business Administration from Ryerson University in Canada, and grad program from University of California-Berkeley in the United States.
When Chirag is not in his lab or on the production floor, he loves to travel, experience different cultures and visit unseen places. With a goal of visiting all 195 countires, he has managed to visit 40 so far.
Chirag is also a co-founder of United World Foundation, an NGO that focuses on building poverty-free, healthy, gender-balanced, equitable, eco-conscious and inclusive humanity.
Ulrich has more than 25 years of experience in the Healthcare industry and has held various positions in sales and marketing. He started his career in the pharmaceutical industry where he successfully developed and executed the commercial strategy (e.g. at UCB Pharma) and launched of innovative drugs (e.g. in the field of Oncology at Takeda Pharma).
In his last position prior to Henkel he was responsible for the launch of digital Hygiene monitoring solutions in Healthcare facilities, leading a cross country team in Germany and Switzerland. In his current role as Business Development Manager for Digital Hygiene Solutions, he is focused on the development of new and existing customers. This includes managing the ecosystems that enable manufacturers and brand owners of absorbent hygiene products to incorporate digital features into their products, such as e.g. wetness measurement, position monitoring etc. The upgrade to smart diapers is possible today thanks to the printed electronic sensing technology from Henkel in combination with customized software and hardware offered by IoT partners.
More than 320 delegates from over 152 companies learnt and shared insights on the exciting market potential of India, whilst taking this unique opportunity for networking and doing business. One of the red threads of a majority of presentations was the absolute necessity for the whole industry to address the key concerns of the times, sustainability and circularity.
