The hackathon marks a start of a broader collaboration within the nonwovens industry on finding circular solutions to absorbent hygiene product waste.
In the search for viable business solutions in closing AHP loops, EDANA organised a hackathon. It was done in collaboration with the ESCP Business School.
Students from the business school were challenged to finding solutions for the collection and recycling of baby diapers and incontinence care products. Teams comprised of Business Students such as, but not limited to, the Masters in International Sustainability Management and Masters in Sustainability Entrepreneurship and Innovation competed and pitched their ideas on October 14th, 2021.
A jury of experts selected the winning idea. The Jury was composed of experts from the Sustainability Advisory Board of the business school, with representatives from Allianz, Accenture, and WWF. The Jury members were complemented with experts from the absorbent hygiene products industry. Students of the winning teams won internships and monetary prizes. The winning teams will present their revolutionary ideas at INDEX on October 19th.
