Role

EDANA is looking for a Senior Sustainability Expert to lead and drive the development, implementation, and growth of our sustainability initiatives including the revision of environmental schemes and representing the industry in standardization work related to sustainability.

This role requires advanced technical expertise, a strong scientific background, and the ability to engage with members and internal teams, including public affairs, communications, and events.




Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with a Master’s degree in science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field. The ideal candidate will have expertise in environmental impact measurement tools, ecolabels, and sustainability frameworks.

Experience working with a trade association or scientific organisation is highly desirable.

Since this role involves speaking engagements at conferences, training courses, and industry events, we are looking for someone with excellent presentation and communication skills.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the implementation of EDANA’s sustainability strategy roadmap, focusing on environmental impact measurement tools and ecolabels.
  • Develop and manage sustainability-related projects for EDANA.
  • Manage relevant member groups and provide guidance on sustainability standards.
  • Respond to member requests for sustainability-related and technical guidance.
  • Lead the programme for the EDANA Sustainability Forum.
  • Develop and deliver sustainability content at EDANA Conferences and training courses.
  • Deliver training courses and actively engage in speaking opportunities at industry events.
  • Represent EDANA at industry events, scientific meetings, and conferences, including speaking engagements.
  • Provide ongoing support on sustainability-related European and international standards.


Qualifications


  • Master’s degree in science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in sustainability, environmental impact assessment, ecolabels, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience working with a trade association or scientific organization is an asset.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, with experience delivering training courses, conference presentations, or industry workshops.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
  • Previous experience in the nonwovens or related industries is a plus.
