The EDANA Quality and Auditing Project has entered its final stage of the pilot period. On October 2nd more pilots were held, one in Germany and a second in Egypt. These audits are intended to qualify two more auditors. Significant progress has been made in the auditor selection and training as these last 2 audits should demonstrate. With the standard already proven to be complete, auditable, and apt in terms of setting the right standards for systems and measures that really matter for our industry, preparations are now in place to ensure a qualified decision on going ‘live’. The QAP WG is working on the necessary communications to implement the scheme and a group of business leaders has been invited to be ambassadors of the project to ensure a successful roll out. Clarity will be provided on how both converters and suppliers can participate. As a final note at this moment, it’s worth noting that the QAP WG intends to start the implementation in EMEA early in 2022. This will allow the finetuning of the operational procedures after which the roll out can be extended to other regions.
